Blue Hills Race Team
Home of the Rice Lake, Cameron, Barron and Shell Lake High School Ski Teams
*Who – All skiers/snowboarders interested in going faster and racing.
*What – Alpine race team, competing as part of the Northern Ski / Snowboard League at the high school and junior high level. Cost is $100 for high school, $50 for junior high racers, $25 for elementary racers. (Plus gear, season pass, and travel expenses/tickets for races)
*Where – Practices take place at Christie Mountain, our competitions will take place at Christie Mt, Powderhorn/ Indianhead/Blackjack (Ironwood, MI), Mt. Ashwabay (Bayfield, WI), Granite Peak (Wausau, WI) and Ski Brule (Iron River, MI).
*When – We will practice Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings. We will have one high school race on Saturday, the other five races will be during the week. We leave town by 5:30 am typically and are home by 7:00 pm or so at the latest.
*Why – why not? : ) Giving athletes a chance to compete, push their boundaries, have fun and learn to ENJOY negative temps. Giving them a chance to win and a chance to lose with grace and maturity. Give them a chance to fail and realize it is all ok..
